Ronen Elefant, MD, MBA, MSEng is double board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, specializing in Acute Care Surgery—which encompasses trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care. As the founder of ACES, he is reimagining how surgical care is delivered—through collaboration, safety, and uncompromising standards of excellence.
Currently serving as Trauma Medical Director and Chief of Acute Care Surgery at a regional hospital in Pennsylvania, Dr. Elefant has led the hospital in achieving and maintaining Level II trauma center accreditation and played a key role in its transformation into a tertiary referral center.
With advanced training in engineering and economics—and over 25 years in aviation—Dr. Elefant brings a rare, multidimensional perspective to medicine. To him, surgery is not just about operating—it’s about precision problem-solving: applying the pilot’s discipline in managing risk, the engineer’s foresight in preventing failure, and the economist’s clarity in demanding transparency.

She currently serves as Director of Emergency Services, Acute Care Surgery, and Trauma at a regional hospital system, where she oversees operations, quality, and performance across multiple service lines.
At ACES, Krysta drives the operational backbone of the organization—building scalable systems, aligning high-performing teams, and translating strategy into consistent, measurable results. She brings a steady, execution-focused approach to growth, ensuring that every process and partnership advances the ACES mission of delivering safe, efficient, and independent surgical care.
